Signature vs. Volume Extensions

Signature vs. Volume Extensions

Your eyelashes are such a small part of your face that it’s easy to think that they might go unnoticed; and in their natural state, it’s possible that sometimes they will. That’s where Lash Up comes in, with our lines of beautiful lash extensions to help make your eyes as beautiful as you know they were meant to be. Beauty isn’t universal, however; we like to offer you options when it comes to styling your lashes. Here are some of the types of lash extensions that we offer, to help you decide which ones work best for you.

First of All, What Are Lash Extensions?

Lash extensions, just like any other kind of hair extensions, are artificial lashes that are attached to your natural lashes to make them appear longer and fuller. They are made of synthetic materials, silk, or mink, depending on your desired appearance and price range. The extensions are glued one millimeter away from your eyelid, with one or more extensions being fixed to an individual natural eyelash. Depending on your desired results, you can choose our volume extensions for thickness and drama, or our signature extensions for a subtler, more natural look.

Volume Extensions for A Bold Statement

Volume lash extensions do exactly what it sounds like; they increase the volume of your lashes, making them appear much thicker than your natural lashes would. We will consult with you before applying your extensions to decide how you would like us to shape your volume extensions. You can check out our gallery to figure out what shapes and styles would work well for you. Volume extensions take longer to apply than signature extensions, and they cost more, due to the fact that they use more materials and are more time consuming to work with.

Signature Extensions to Enhance Your Natural Beauty

Of course, drama and boldness aren’t always the style you want to go for. There’s nothing wrong with wanting a subtler and more natural appearance while still enhancing your natural look. Signature extensions are what you want to check out if you’d like your natural lashes to look longer and fuller while not looking artificial or overly dramatic. When we apply signature extensions, we only attach one artificial lash to each of your natural lashes. They are much faster to apply than volume extensions and they cost less.

Care and Maintenance

Once you’ve got your extensions, whether you chose signature or volume, there are a few things to remember to keep them looking fresh and new. You can wear mascara, but stay away from waterproof and oil-based mascara. These can degrade the bond between the false and natural lashes, causing your extensions to fall off early. For the same reason, don’t use oil-based makeup remover, either. Try to avoid physical activity for about 24 hours after your new lashes are applied. And finally, don’t forget to come back to Lash Up every few weeks for a fill or a top-up to keep your extensions looking luscious.

Whether you prefer signature or volume extensions, Lash Up’s technicians will help you decide which type of lash extensions would work best for you.
